Tottenham player just can’t stop speaking about Arsenal with staggering claim, ‘many people think’

Tottenham Hotspur won the Europa League, and Arsenal haven’t stopped hearing about it.

The Lilywhites ended their trophy drought with a win over Manchester United in the final, reducing many to tears as Ange Postecoglou delivered Spurs their first major trophy since 2008.

Arsenal fans couldn’t bear to watch Spurs lift silverware after Mikel Arteta’s side endured yet another season without getting their hands on a trophy.

Still, Arsenal arguably had a better season than Tottenham, having finished second in the Premier League and reaching the Champions League semi-final, but that’s not the view of everyone.

Kevin Danso makes baffling claim about Arsenal

If Arsenal fans found James Maddison’s post-match swipes tedious, what defender Kevin Danso has just said is all the more petulant.

On international duty with Austria, the defender made a claim that in North London, Spurs are the bigger club than Arsenal.

“I didn’t realise it right away; right after the game, it was like a dream. It wasn’t until two days later that I truly realised I was a European Cup winner,” Danso told Krone, reacting to Spurs’ trophy parade that day.

“If you don’t live in London, you might not realise how big Tottenham is, many people think North London is Arsenal.

“In my opinion, there are many more Tottenham fans than Arsenal. It was an incredible feeling to see how much joy we brought to the fans.”

It was a fair assessment from Danso, as it was unlikely that he’d see many Arsenal fans at a Tottenham trophy parade, which only made his comments more puzzling.

How the Austrian concluded his Arsenal talk might actually amuse Gooners far and wide, as Danso admitted that winning a trophy with a ‘club like Tottenham’ made the occasion even sweeter.

“Winning something with a club like Tottenham makes the feeling even sweeter,” he said after the Lilywhites’ first taste of silverware in 17 years.

Danso can’t stop speaking about Arsenal

Arsenal and Tottenham’s rivalry is a constant source of entertainment, perhaps more for the Gunners than their bitter rivals.

Interestingly, Danso’s baffling claim about the size of Spurs compared to Arsenal wasn’t the first time that the defender has spoken about Arteta’s side since the Europa League win.

In a post-match interview, Danso was asked if he had a message for Arsenal after the victory, to which he claimed he ‘couldn’t care less’ about the Gunners.

“To be honest, I couldn’t care less what they do. I’m at Tottenham Hotspur, we just won the Europa League.”

That being said, Arsenal are clearly in the 26-year-old’s thoughts, as portrayed by his comments during the international break.

It’s all fun and games, as football banter always is, but a fair few Gooners might have something to say about Danso’s view on the North London divide.
