Arsenal came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw against Chelsea this evening, and here are our player ratings.
Goals from Cole Palmer and Mykhaylo Mudryk gave the hosts a 2-0 lead, and it looked like we would suffer our first league defeat of the season. However, Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard saved the day and helped Arsenal pick up a point in the end.
Arsenal player ratings vs Chelsea
David Raya: 4/10
All eyes have been on David Raya since he replaced Aaron Ramsdale in the side, and he had done fairly well until today. However, he had a really poor outing at Stamford Bridge this evening. He was at fault for Mudryk’s goal and could’ve easily cost us one or two more times as well.
Ben White: 6/10
A quiet evening for the Englishman. He didn’t do a lot wrong, but much like most of his teammates, he couldn’t get going at the other end of the pitch.
William Saliba: 6/10
Saliba’s handball gave Chelsea the penalty early in the game, but let’s be honest, it was a shocking decision by the VAR. We’re sick and tired of the inconsistency, and even though we did not deserve to win the game, that decision cost us two points today. Even John Terry wasn’t happy with the decision.
Gabriel Magalhaes:6/10
It was a difficult evening for Gabriel, but he kept his calm at some important moments. He should’ve done better with a header at the other end of the pitch though.
Oleksandr Zinchenko: 4/10
Zinchenko had a terrible game from the very start. He almost cost us in the opening moments of the first half, and Raheem Sterling really troubled him for the rest of his time on the pitch. He was rightly replaced at half-time.
Jorginho: 5/10
Not a happy return to Stamford Bridge for Jorginho today. He had an evening to forget, especially in the first half, and was rightly replaced in the second 45.
Declan Rice: 7.5/10
Rice, like many of his teammates, struggled for space in the first half. However, he kept on fighting and pulled out an outrageous finish to get us back in the game.
Bukayo Saka: 6.5/10
Saka really struggled in the first half. The referee allowed Marc Cucurella to keep on kicking him, and that broke any sort of rhythm the Arsenal number seven tried to pick up. However, the cream always rises to the top. Saka’s incredible assist helped us level the game in the end.
Martin Odegaard: 3/10
We can’t remember the last time Odegaard had such a poor game. Our captain, for whatever reason, just couldn’t get going, and it was his mistake that opened the door for Chelsea to double their lead early in the second half.
Gabriel Martinelli: 6/10
Martinelli was probably our only bright spark in the first half. He tried and tried to make something happen, and even though he was controlled well by Chelsea’s defenders, he gave us some hope.
Gabriel Jesus: 5.5
Not a great evening for the Brazilian. He didn’t get on the ball enough and was on the receiving end of a couple of painful challenges.
