Arsenal are preparing for another assault at the Premier League title as the new season finally arrives.
After three successive second place finishes, Mikel Arteta will be hoping that the club’s business over the summer will finally be enough to land the Premier League title.
Paul Merson has backed Arsenal to win the league and has highlighted Viktor Gyokeres as an important cog in the Gunners’ machine this season.
However, pundit Troy Deeney doesn’t fancy Arteta’s men to claim the crown and has claimed they are solely reliant on one player.

Troy Deeney believes Arsenal will rely on Bukayo Saka to win the Premier League
Speaking on the ‘Football Exchange’ podcast, Deeney was asked about Arsenal’s chances of winning the title this season and has claimed they are relying on the form of Bukayo Saka to have any chance.
Declan Rice has hailed Saka as ‘unbelievable’ and the Gunners certainly missed the 23-year-old when he missed three months of last campaign with a hamstring injury.
Deeney stated: “Arsenal, are they going to win the league? I always look at this. Is their goalkeeper better than Liverpool’s? No. Is their goalkeeper better than Man United Man City’s? No.
“And potentially with Donnaruma going in? Definitely not. Right. Right. Better than Chelsea’s? Yes. I say he’s better than Chelsea’s.
“Is your top goalscorer going to outscore Salah? No. I don’t think Gyokeres will. Is he going to outscore Harland? I don’t think he will.
“And I still think Arsenal will only go as far as Bukayo Saka takes them. It is all on him.”
Bukayo Saka could face position change this season at Arsenal
The arrival of Noni Madueke this summer poses intrigue over Saka’s position in the team moving forward. There is no doubt that Saka will be a regular starter for the Gunners, but he could be in for a position change.
Teams have begun to crowd Saka out on the right flank, often placing two to three defenders on the Hale End star.
Arteta may look to bring Saka into a more central position as the season progresses. He has the ability to play on the half turn and his intelligence will mean that he could pick up spaces to cause problems for teams.
Arsenal will also be looking for Saka to hit double figures in terms of goals and assists this campaign and playing just behind a striker could help him to achieve this feat.
