Josh Ogunnaike and Remy Mitchell join Arsenal training
Josh Ogunnaike and Remy Mitchell have joined Arsenal’s open training session this morning, according to Jeorge Bird.
With Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber, Martin Odegaard and Riccardo Calafiori missing training, the Arsenal youngsters were called up.
Ogunnaike featured in Arsenal under-21s’ 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday evening, but is now getting the chance to train with the first team.
The 18-year-old defender replaced Marli Salmon at half-time during the defeat in South London, and is now joining him in training.
Meanwhile, Mitchell was the other Arsenal under-21 player spotted in training, although the 22-year-old goalkeeper is likely to just be helping out.
👀 Bukayo Saka or Max Dowman: Who is Arsenal’s best right winger?
Max Dowman was one of the first Arsenal players to make his way out at London Colney this morning ahead of the Champions League game.
Dowman should be starting against Sporting, especially with Saka missing from training and Noni Madueke struggling over the last few weeks.
The 16-year-old could be Arteta’s wildcard for the game against Sporting, and the Spaniard needs to play it now following a poor run of form.
