Arsenal have reached a total agreement to sign Viktor Gyokeres.

After weeks of negotiations and frustrations from all parties, Andrea Berta has finally unlocked the stalemate and is bringing the Swedish forward to North London.

Gyokeres is expected to have a medical at Arsenal on Saturday according to journalist David Ornstein and could join the pre-season tour of Asia.

Whilst the game against Newcastle will be too soon for Gyokeres, there is a chance he could make his debut against arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur. He will be wearing an iconic shirt number to add to the excitement for supporters.

Viktor Gyokeres to wear number 14 shirt at Arsenal

Ornstein has revealed further details about the Swedish striker’s move to North London and it is believed he will wear the iconic number 14 at the club.

Thierry Henry made the shirt famous during his legendary spell at the Gunners, where he became the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.

Theo Walcott and Eddie Nketiah have since worn the shirt and now Gyokeres has the chance to make his own history in the number.

Arsenal fans are excited by Gyokeres and have already been seen mimicking his iconic celebration during the club’s tour to Asia.

Viktor Gyokeres now under even more pressure to deliver at Arsenal

As if there wasn’t enough pressure on the 27-year-old to score goals upon his arrival, the number 14 shirt has just increased that expectation.

Arteta is under pressure to deliver a trophy and the hope is that Gyokeres will bring the required firepower up top to secure a Premier League title.

The Swede has never played in the top flight of English football before but there is no time to settle in with fans expecting results straight away.

The spotlight will be on Gyokeres even further after news of Alexander Isak’s availability in the market and Arsenal’s long-term pursuit of the Newcastle man.
