Gyokeres has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid in a potential swap deal which would see Julian Alavrez move in the opposite direction.

The Swede had a mixed debut campaign in N5, netting 21 goals and helping the club to win their first Premier League title in 22 years.

Currently, the striker is away at the World Cup, and he has waved away speculation over his future in North London ahead of facing France.

Viktor Gyokeres has shut down links over a potential move to Atletico Madrid this summer and made it clear that he is happy at Arsenal.

The 28-year-old has admitted that Atletico’s interest in him is flattering, but he only remains focused on Arsenal after becoming a Premier League champion.

Speaking to the media, Gyokeres said: “Of course it’s flattering to see that clubs are interested but I feel extremely comfortable at Arsenal. After the season we’ve had I only have positive feelings.”

Meanwhile, when he was asked if he is thinking about headlines over his future at Arsenal, he added: “Nothing. I’m here, I have a pretty important match and that’s the focus.”

Right now, the striker is only thinking about Sweden’s tough Round of 32 World Cup match against France on Tuesday.

Gyokeres managed just one goal and assist during the group stage, and will need to be at his very best against William Saliba.

Julian Alvarez to Viktor Gyokeres is not a guaranteed upgrade

Alvarez to Gyokeres is not a guaranteed upgrade, especially going off the number of goals both players scored last term.

Gyokeres netted one more goal than Alvarez, yet would probably cost £50 million less than what Atleti want for the Argentine.

Alvarez seems to be one of the most exciting forwards on the market this summer, but the Gunners need to be cautious over getting sucked in to overpaying for him.
