Atletico Madrid are open to selling Julian Alvarez to Arsenal and have told the Gunners they are open to doing a huge swap deal.
Arsenal are very keen on Alvarez and could well be open to doing some sort of exchange deal to bring the Argentine to North London.
💰 How much cash plus Viktor Gyokeres should Arsenal demand for Julian Alvarez?
👀 Atletico Madrid want £52m + Gyokeres…
Andrea Berta is desperate to add to the Gunners’ forward line in the summer, and the club is still keen to sign another striker.
Atletico have now offered the Gunners the chance to do a huge swap deal, which could be seriously tempting for Mikel Arteta.
Atletico Madrid open to Julian Alvarez and Viktor Gytokeres swap deal
Atletico Madrid have told Arsenal that they would be willing to swap Julian Alvarez for Viktor Gyokeres plus around £52 million, according to COPE.
Diego Simone’s side are unwilling to negotiate with Barca and are currently exploring the possibility of sending him to the Premier League.
The Spanish club could kill two birds with one stone in the deal by landing a large sum of money and a ready-made replacement for the 26-year-old.
Atleti are looking to sign a ‘pure and simple centre forward’, and the Swedish attacker certainly fits that bill following his debut campaign at the Emirates Stadium.
Gyokeres had a mixed first season at Arsenal, as despite producing some questionable performances, he ended up helping Arsenal win the league and scoring 21 times in total.
Arsenal are open to keeping Gyokeres for another season; however, it will be interesting to see how they react to being offered Alvarez.
But regardless of what happens, Atletico insists they will not be bullied into accepting a deal for the striker after he made it clear he wants to leave.
🤔 PICK ONE: Would you rather Arsenal signed Bradley Barcola or Morgan Rogers this summer?
After Argentina’s game against Austria, he told the media: “The best thing for everyone is a transfer; I want to fulfil my dream.
“I can’t hide, nor can I act as if I don’t want to be clear; I try to be honest. I spoke with people from Atletico, and I think the best thing for everyone involved is for me to leave.”
Julian Alvarez tells Arsenal he’s waiting for Barcelona
Matteo Moretto reports that Alvarez has already informed Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain that he’s waiting for Barcelona.
The striker’s dream is to play for the Spanish club, and they will now need to find an agreement with Atletico.
Although Barca are not the most financially powerful club right now, Arsenal will be closely monitoring negotiations.
But even if Alvarez does not join Arsenal, it will be interesting to see how the Gunners react to Atletico’s interest in Gyokeres.
