Viktor Gyokeres is Arsenal’s main striker at the moment.
The Swede was signed from Sporting CP in the summer transfer window, and he has had a decent start to life in the famous red and white.
Goalscoring is Gyokeres’ biggest strength. He netted 97 goals in 102 games for his old club before moving to the Emirates in the summer.
That makes him a pretty good judge of strikers, but some Arsenal fans may not like what he has just said about Thierry Henry.
Viktor Gyokeres suggests Zlatan Ibrahimovic is better than Arsenal legend Thierry Henry
Henry is Arsenal’s greatest ever player.
The Frenchman spent eight years as a Gunner and became the club’s record goalscorer. He dominated the Premier League and is, in many people’s eyes, the best this country has ever seen.
Henry will be at the top of every Arsenal fan’s list of best strikers, and rightly so.
However, summer signing Viktor Gyokeres has preferred his compatriot, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, over the World Cup winner despite taking his iconic shirt number at Arsenal.
In a video on the Ballon d’Or’s official social channels, Gyokeres ranked the Swedish icon third in the list of the greatest strikers of all time.
Even though it was a blind ranking video, the top two spots were free when Henry’s name came up, but the Arsenal striker chose to place him fourth, one spot below Ibrahimovic.
As for the top two, Gyokeres went with Ronaldo Nazario and Karim Benzema.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already agreed with Viktor Gyokeres about Thierry Henry
Ibrahimovic was never short of confidence during his playing career.
The Swede played for a number of top clubs across Europe, and he even had the chance to join Arsenal back in the day.
However, Ibrahimovic rejected the Gunners after Arsene Wenger asked him to come on trial for two weeks.
The striker went on to achieve great things elsewhere and is widely regarded as one of the best forwards of all time.
Just recently, in September this year, Ibrahimovic suggested that he was better than Henry and every other centre-forward in history apart from the Brazilian Ronaldo.
That is almost exactly what Gyokeres has said now.
