Viktor Gyokeres and Bukayo Saka were the two standout performers for Arsenal as they beat Fulham this weekend.

The duo combined for the three goals and sent a message to everyone else that the Gunners are not simply going to settle for stumbling their way over the line this season.

Gyokeres has now hit 20 goals for the season, while Saka has joined Arsenal’s top five Premier League players when it comes to making goals and assists.

And according to Gyokeres, it’s good for everyone that Saka is back involved.

What does Bukayo Saka need to do to be considered Arsenal’s greatest ever Premier League winger?

Viktor Gyokeres gives his opinion on Bukayo Saka’s Arsenal return

Gyokeres has been the lone frontman for Arsenal for much of this season and while some have questioned his own ability, it hasn’t helped that Saka has been out.

Now, with Saka back and playing well, Arsenal have a new dimension to their attack ahead of facing Atletico tomorrow.

And according to Gyokeres, having Saka back helps the entire team.

“He was very good on Saturday,” Gyokeres commented.

“When he is in that form & he is playing like he always is, it’s of course amazing for me and all the other guys to have him on the pitch!”

With Saka set to start tomorrow and Gyokeres nailed on to be given the nod with Kai Havertz struggling, it’s all set up for a classic at The Emirates.

Arsenal will be hoping for more luck in terms of VAR, too, after Eberechi Eze’s late penalty shout was controversially overturned.

Arsenal have injury worries ahead of Atletico

It’s not all sunshine and rainbows for Arsenal right now, unfortunately.

While Saka is back and Gyokeres has hit form, they have four players missing from their last training session before facing Atletico.

Jurrien Timber, Kai Havertz, Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino were all absent, adding further pressure onto the squad.

Mikel Arteta now has to think carefully about his selection. Myles Lewis-Skelly is one to watch after being given the nod over Martin Zubimendi at the weekend.

Gyokeres and Saka, then, will need to be on their best form to make up for the loss of those key players mentioned.
