Wayne Rooney has been speaking very highly of Gabriel Jesus following his brace in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Inter Milan.
Jesus netted twice against Inter Milan, which means the Gunners have now all seven matches in the Champions League this season and guaranteed a top top finish.
Fill in the blank: _______________ should start up front vs Man United…
The 28-year-old was on fire at the San Siro as he produced quite possibly his best performance in an Arsenal shirt to date.
After the game, Mikel Arteta said Jesus was Man of the Match, and his display has left Rooney worried about Man United’s chances of getting a result at Arsenal.
Wayne Rooney is worried about Gabriel Jesus vs Man United
Wayne Rooney has named Gabriel Jesus as the Arsenal player Man United should be most worried about ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash.
The Red Devils travel to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday looking to cause yet another upset in the Premier League title race.
However, the club’s former striker has warned them about the form of Jesus and is adamant Arteta must start him over Viktor Gyokeres.
“Probably Jesus. I think just with Harry Maguire and Martinez, his anticipation and his little movement inside the penalty box. He’s a very clever player,” Rooney told Sports on Prime Video.
Right now, tell us why you would/wouldn’t offer Gabriel Jesus a new contract
“I think if I were Gabriel Jesus now, I’d be there saying I want to start the game on Sunday. I’ve put myself in a position where he’s come here, he scored two goals, he played really well tonight.
“So if I were him, I’d be putting it in the manager’s mind that I really want to play.”
Jesus is keen to stay at Arsenal and fight for his place, with his display against Inter certainly buying him.
Arsenal now consider Gabriel Jesus ‘untouchable’
It looks like the striker will get his wish as Arsenal now consider Jesus to be ‘untouchable’in the transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
AC Milan had reportedly been rejected by the striker, but the Italian journalist claims that it never happened because Arsenal are not open to letting him go.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “Arsenal believe Gabriel Jesus can still help this season. He was never a player on the market.
“Gabriel Jesus never rejected Milan. There was never a price, never an offer, nothing, because Gabriel Jesus is not for sale.”
