Andrea Berta worked his magic to bring nine top players to Arsenal over the summer, and Wayne Rooney has been rating some of them, including Viktor Gyokeres.
The former Premier League striker was asked to give some of the Premier League’s top signings a rating, and he discussed several new Arsenal stars.
One of the players discussed was Benjamin Sesko, who signed for Manchester United over the summer after Arsenal walked away from a deal.
As Andrea Berta searched for a new number nine for the Gunners, Sesko was on Arsenal’s list of targets, but personal terms were never agreed upon.
The 22-year-old has had a mixed start to life at Old Trafford, and now, Wayne Rooney has rated him against Mikel Arteta’s signing of Gyokeres.

Wayne Rooney picks Viktor Gyokeres over Benjamin Sesko
Rooney believes that Viktor Gyokeres has been a better signing for the Gunners than Benjamin Sesko has been for Man United.
Gyokeres has made a mixed start at Arsenal, but last weekend against Burnley showed why he can be so important to the Gunners.
In the 2-0 win at Turf Moor, Viktor Gyokeres ended his goal drought in the Premier League to make it six in total for the season.
The ex-Man United man actually gave Gyokeres one of the highest ratings, with four stars out of a possible five for his signing.
Meanwhile, Sesko was given a two-out-of-five-star rating by Rooney, given that he hasn’t really been producing many goals for the Red Devils.
The Slovenian international has managed just two goals in 11 appearances for United, and some at Arsenal will be breathing a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, Gary Neville is also unsure about Sesko, with everything pointing towards the Gunners having made the right choice by going for Gyokeres.
Wayne Rooney rates Bryan Mbeumo higher than Eberechi Eze
Eberechi Eze was another Arsenal signing who Rooney rated out of five, and he gave the Gunners’ new £68 million man three stars.
That meant that he was above the likes of Florian Wirtz and Anthony Elanga, but he was actually rated lower than Bryan Mbeumo.
Eze has been quietly very good at Arsenal since making the switch across London, and his performances aren’t quite getting the recognition they deserve just yet.
The 27-year-old is going to be key for Arteta’s team over the weekend for the trip away to Sunderland, and he will be hoping for his big breakout moment during the clash.
