Arsenal return to Premier League action this weekend as they face Crystal Palace for the second time in just a matter of days.

The Gunners are keen to add more points to the board, having struggled in the league with back-to-back draws.

With Mikel Arteta looking to string together a run of wins, that could all start at Selhurst Park with their clash against Crystal Palace.

In the build-up to the London derby, pundits have given their predictions for Arsenal and a possible result.

Paul Merson predicts Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has backed his old team to beat Crystal Palace, following their victory in the EFL Cup.

He claimed that it could be a tough but entertaining one, given the fact it is being played in front of an away crowd.

Predicting the Premier League match on Sportskeeda, Merson said: “I expect this to be an entertaining game though. Palace will have a go at Arsenal since they are playing in front of their own fans at Selhurst Park.

“The longer the game goes on at 0-0, the tougher it will get for Arsenal. Let’s not forget that Palace have recently turned a corner in the Premier League with their draw against Manchester City and win over Brighton.”

It shows just how difficult it could be for the Gunners, who will have to be at their best to turn over the Eagles.

Score prediction: Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal.

Chris Sutton makes Crystal Palace vs Arsenal prediction

Much like Merson, Chris Sutton is backing an Arsenal win and by a one-goal margin too, but with a different scoreline.

Writing on BBC Sport, he said: “Arsenal really need a win here, though, and I think they will find a way of getting it.

“I am going for a 1-0 victory and it doesn’t matter if their goal comes from another set-piece, because they all count. As I’ve said before, a few other teams would love to carry the same threat they do from corners.”

Score prediction: Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal.

Whether Arsenal will be able to pick up that win remains to be seen, though there will be some confidence following the win in midweek.

They will be hoping to make that confidence show with a huge result and a performance with it to match.
