Should Arsenal go on to win the Premier League this season, it would be one of the most remarkable trophy wins in adversity.

Arsenal have been decimated with injuries this season, alongside several controversial referee decisions which have ultimately cost precious points in the Premier League title race.

Mikel Arteta’s side are unbeaten in 15 games despite their troubles, the first time they have gone that long without losing a game since 2011.

One of the real positives from the season so far has been the emergence of Hale End duo Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly and it has emerged that one senior Arsenal player has been working behind the scenes with one of the young stars in particular.

Raheem Sterling has encouraged Ethan Nwaneri more than anyone else for Arsenal

Raheem Sterling will be the first to admit that he hasn’t performed well enough in an Arsenal shirt this season. Fans were furious with Sterling’s performance against Leicester City.

However, as per The Mirror, the England international has still had a positive influence off the pitch for the Gunners and particularly in relation to Nwaneri.

Nobody has been more encouraging of Nwaneri in the Arsenal first team squad than Sterling and it is believed that the Arsenal youngster looks up to him for guidance and support.

Arsenal staff has spoken highly of Sterling’s attitude and commitment since his arrival at the Emirates Stadium and he is clearly rubbing off on the future generation of the North London club.

Sterling can come good for Arsenal – Gabriel Jesus is proof of that

Sterling hasn’t turned into a bad player overnight. Gabriel Jesus suffered with a confidence crisis before hitting a renaissance just before his acl injury.

The Brazilian striker had struck six goals in seven games before his season was cruelly cut short in the FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.

All it took was one clever finish against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup and Jesus was back to his very best, Sterling should take inspiration from that moment involving his former Man City team mate.

One cross, one pass, one goal is all it could take for the confident juices to start flowing for Sterling and what a significant boost that could be for Arsenal’s silverware hopes if he can rediscover his best form.
