Sandro Tonali or Bruno Guimaraes? That seems to be the question on everyone’s lips at Arsenal right now.

With Arsenal’s search for a new midfielder taking them to the Northeast, suggestions of a deal being done for Guimaraes or Tonali have ramped up in recent days.

Clearly, things seem to be moving at pace when it comes to Guimaraes in particular. The Brazilian might be at the World Cup, but Andrea Berta is working hard on getting a deal done.

As we know, Tonali and Guimaraes have been a key duo for Newcastle in recent years.

And according to Tonali, there’s more to Guimaraes than just being a top player.

Sandro Tonali’s praise for Bruno Guimaraes when he returned from his ban

We all know that Tonali was banned by the FA for off the field matters but Newcastle stuck with their man.

When he returned over a year ago, there was plenty for Tonali to take in, including how the fans would react to him and if he was still the same player.

Nevertheless, Tonali has revealed how Guimaraes actually helped him with his return.

“I was in Wolverhampton with the team and maybe the first people Bruno and Joelinton helped me all night before the game. I think this is difficult for the players to stay with me and for this problem,” Tonali revealed to Sky Sports previously.

“I think for me if I have the game the day after I pause I rest and go to sleep. But Bruno and Jo are top players and top people. And for me I like the Brazilian guy. Not only because they help me but they help the team”.

Clearly, there is plenty to like about Guimaraes and it seems player endorsements only add weight to those claims.

Gabriel Martinelli has praised Guimaraes as well, while those up in Newcastle know just how good he is.

As the days tick by, there seems to be more and more green flags being crossed off when it comes to the Brazilian.

Arsenal fans, then, can start to get at least a touch excited about the prospect of him signing.
