Former Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott has joined Mikel Arteta’s squad on their pre-season tour in the USA, and fans are loving it.

Walcott scored 108 goals in 11 years at Arsenal, winning three FA Cups, and scored some iconic strikes which live long in the memory.

Arsenal fans in Los Angeles were treated to a 2-1 victory over old rivals Manchester United in their pre-season friendly at the SoFi Stadium.

Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli handed Arteta’s side a victory over one of Arsenal’s biggest historical rivals.

Walcott also delighted the fans by helping them remember one of their best wins against their other rivals in Tottenham Hotspur.

Fans in the stadium spotted Walcott in the VIP section, and chanted for him to recreate one of his most iconic celebrations, which came in a North London derby in 2014, and he obliged, raising his hands to signal a 2-0 scoreline.

Fans loved the gesture from Walcott, as it came on a monumental day for Arsenal, but a tough day for the former winger.

January 2014 saw Arsenal drawn against their bitter rivals Spurs in the third round of the FA Cup, and the tie was played at the Emirates Stadium.

Walcott impressed in an outing at centre-forward, and goals from Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky gave Arsenal an enjoyable 2-0 lead.

However, Walcott then came off injured, and had to be carried off on a stretcher, which passed by the away section, where the Arsenal star was then subjected to abuse from the Spurs fans.

He then antagonised them further by reminding them of the score in the game, much to the delight of the Arsenal fans, but it then emerged that he had picked up a long-term injury.

Nevertheless, it still went down as a brilliant moment in the history of the rivalry, and Walcott is clearly fulfiling his role as an Arsenal ambassador on the US tour well.
