Mikel Arteta watched his Arsenal side let a two-goal lead slip in what was a disappointing 2-2 draw against Aston Villa.
It is ultimately a result that dampens Arsenal’s title hopes, with the Gunners now six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Arsenal’s slip-up was made even worse by Liverpool’s late victory against Brentford – with Darwin Nunez grabbing two goals in added time to rub salt in the wounds of Gunners fans.
Thomas Frank was on the losing end of the Nunez’s inspired comeback – and the Brentford boss has since given his verdict on Arne Slot’s side, even tipping them to beat Arsenal in the title race.

Thomas Frank thinks Liverpool are ‘level above’ Arsenal
Having now played all the teams in the title mix – it seems like the Brentford boss now knows who he rates the highest.
With that being said, despite Frank predicting Liverpool would have a ‘dip’, it seems the Dane has now picked the Reds as his title favourites.
“I think we just played City and Arsenal and now Liverpool, in a short amount of time. For me they’re a level above the two teams. They’re complete. Their work ethic, the way they track back, are good indicators.
They’re so good all over the pitch. Such a threat going forward. These are really, really good. It’s the best team in the Premier League and the world. They’re huge favourites to win it [the title],” Frank said via BBC Sport
Paul Merson worries for Arsenal’s title hopes
Having been knocked out of the FA Cup and ninety minutes away from a Carabao Cup exit – Arsenal’s season is seemingly falling by the wayside.
Mikel Arteta’s most realistic chance of a trophy now lies with the Premier League, with Liverpool’s recent patchy form suggesting a six-point lead is recoverable.
Gunners legend Paul Merson though is starting to think otherwise, revealing on Sky Sports that he is now starting to doubt Arsenal’s title credentials.
“Now I’m watching them (Arsenal), wondering ave they got it? When push comes to shove like today.
“I start to worry now. The Tottenham game looks after =itself, they are of course struggling. I was fortunate to enough to win two league titles and you have got to have something about you.”
