Despite a recent resurgence in form for Arsenal, there remain question marks over the future of Myles Lewis-Skelly.
A move into midfield in recent weeks has seen Lewis-Skelly shine and he’s now an integral part of the team going for both the title and Champions League.
However, despite excelling in the middle of the park, Arsenal know that they can land pure profit if they do sell ‘MLS’. And with Manchester United among the clubs interested, it could be an interesting summer.
But while United do hold an interest, it appears that it is in fact not the recent move to the middle of the park that has perked their interest.
🤔 Do you agree that attackers should be banned from entering the six-yard box at corners?
Cann tells BBC Sport: "I feel that the time has come now for a law change whereby no attackers are allowed in the six-yard box before the corner is taken."
Manchester United want Myles Lewis-Skelly to challenge Luke Shaw
Last season, we all saw how well Lewis-Skelly did as a left-back in the Arsenal team and in fairness, it was this position that got him into the England set up.
Of course, the move into midfield has shown a new sign to his game and he’s proven already he’s more than adept in that position.
However, according to The Sun, United still actually see Lewis-Skelly primarily as a left-back.
Indeed, it’s claimed they like the idea of him becoming a direct challenger to Luke Shaw.
Shaw, despite being fit for most of this season, has always struggled with injuries and United know that, eventually, they’ll need a replacement.
Lewis-Skelly cannot leave Arsenal to go and play second-choice left-back
It’s one thing moving on to another club in search of first-team minutes. But it’s another thing entirely to move to a rival to play second fiddle to an already established player.
Yes, Lewis-Skelly and Arsenal might well see his future away from The Emirates but for the player himself, the idea of dropping back into being a second-choice left-back would be bizarre.

With the form he’s shown in recent weeks, he needs to be moving on to a team who is going to play him and allow him to excel in midfield.
Sure, he can play left-back if needed but right now, he’s demonstrating qualities in midfield.
If Lewis-Skelly did opt to move to United and sat on the bench behind Shaw, it would feel like an almighty waste of talent.
