Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly is a player on the radar of Manchester United but journalist Ben Jacobs has suggested why a deal could be tricky.
Officials at Old Trafford are believed to be keen on bringing Lewis-Skelly to United. The England youngster has suffered with a lack of minutes this season and is keen to play more next season.
However, while United would like to do a deal, it appears all the cards are with Arsenal.

Arsenal could demand huge money for Myles Lewis-Skelly
Lewis-Skelly showed his class in midweek for the England under-21s and going into next season, he knows he needs to be playing.
However, according to Ben Jacobs, noise about a move to United is coming more from the player’s side rather than Arsenal.
“They have made an informal inquiry on the player’s side to understand that. I understand Manchester United like Myles Lewis-Skelly. Really difficult deal because Arsenal won’t necessarily play ball, but the player is prepared to explore options because he wants more minutes,” Jacobs explained.
“We had a link in January with Chelsea and it was the same, the players’ side are prepared to speak with suitors, with full respect for Arsenal, but they almost want that leverage with options.
“When I speak to Arsenal sources they basically say the only way a sale will happen is for something absolutely crazy. So if a club want Myles Lewis-Skelly on the club-to-club side they will likely have to overpay.”
Mikel Arteta has a big decision to make on Lewis-Skelly
The club itself might not want to lose a homegrown player but there will come a point where the manager will have a say on what happens.
For Mikel Arteta, that moment might be coming this summer. Arteta will need to decide if he does actually see Lewis-Skelly as a real part of his plans, or whether it’s time to cash in and let him go and enjoy his career.

We’ve seen Pep Guardiola do this at Man City with players like Cole Palmer and sometimes, it’s a decision that needs making.
As of now, most Arsenal fans would say the club should keep Lewis-Skelly. However, if he isn’t going to play, there’s little use in having a player sitting around going stale.
