Arsenal take on Manchester United in opening fixture of 2025/26 Premier League season

With the Premier League fixture list now revealed, fans can start making preparations for the opening match of the campaign.

Arsenal will be taking on Manchester United at Old Trafford first up, in a match that Arteta will hope can bring about the first three points of the season.

Last campaign, the Gunners managed a 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium before a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim masterminded a win in the FA Cup on penalties, meaning that all three results came from three meetings between the two teams.

Given the rivalry between Arsenal and Manchester United, it will be a huge clash to open the season with, which won’t be particularly easy for Mikel Arteta.

That one defeat came to Brentford in 2021, though there were other circumstances impacting the team, such as injury and illness.

The latest win came in 2024, which was a 2-0 win over Wolves.

Arteta will be looking to make it a fifth win from six opening-day fixtures, taking his win rate percentage even higher.
