Leon Goretzka remains a player of interest for Arsenal going into this summer but there are suggestions a move to AC Milan might be more appealing.
Goretzka is on Arsenal’s shortlist of players as the Gunners look to add more depth and quality to the midfield area next season.
However, while Arsenal might be flying high, BILD journalist Julian Agardi has suggested a move to Italy may be of interest to Goretzka.
Pep Guardiola has never lost the league title in back-to-back seasons. Will Arsenal finally end that streak?
Leon Goretzka could end up signing for AC Milan
Like any top player, the best clubs in Europe will be keen on Goretzka if he is available.
That means teams from Serie A, England and Spain are all likely to be in the mix.
Indeed, according to Agardi, Milan could well appeal to the German star.
“That is true. Massimiliano Allegri wants players who can make an immediate impact—not just young talents who can develop, but established professionals as well. That naturally puts Leon Goretzka, with all his experience and quality, in Milan’s focus,” Agardi revealed.
“In the winter, Atlético and Arsenal were already very advanced in talks with him, but Goretzka deliberately chose to stay in Munich with FC Bayern. The fact is, he’s in full form, already reaching 37 appearances this season. So it’s not like he’s out of favour or sidelined, he’s playing regularly.
“That’s why Milan are watching him closely, and I think Goretzka might not be completely opposed to Milan, given it’s a beautiful city.”

The case for Leon Goretzka to join Arsenal over AC Milan
Agardi is correct here in that Milan is a wonderful city and of course, the team itself has a rich history in the game.
However, we are talking about levels here and right now, Arsenal are a cut above the Milanese club both in terms of stature, potential success and the wages they can offer as well.
Indeed, come the end of the season, Arsenal are likely to be Premier League champions while they also have a golden chance of winning the Champions League and FA Cup.

Right now, Milan are doing well themselves but look like missing out on the Scudetto to bitter rivals Inter.
For Goretzka, the choice may well come down to football and if he’ll play. That is where Arsenal may struggle to convince him, given the players like Rice, Odegaard and Zubimendi already occupy midfield slots.
Ultimately, Goretzka won’t be short of offers but in our opinion, Arsenal is the place to be right now.
