Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger was recently spotted at PSG ahead of a clash between the two teams in the Champions League.

The semi-final of the competition will be a tense one between two young teams looking to take that next step into the elite.

For Arsenal, the Champions League has been a bit of a difficult competition to grapple with over the years, with just the one final reached and lost so far in their history.

PSG are eerily similar and will be looking to take their exciting team to the top, starting at the Emirates Stadium.

There are likely to be some of the biggest names in football watching on, even visiting the clubs in the build-up.

Arsene Wenger may well be one of those, with the former Arsenal manager having recently visited PSG on a trip.

Arsene Wenger visited PSG as ex-Arsenal boss joins FIFA Club World Cup tour

Arsene Wenger’s current job since leaving Arsenal has surrounded the global development of the game at FIFA.

That has involved plenty of different meetings and conferences, with his latest task surrounding a tour of the FIFA Club World Cup.

The new format of the competition launches this summer, with it now taking place every four years as a tournament rather than every year.

PSG are among those joining the inaugural cast of teams playing in it, which includes a new trophy and a huge cash prize up for grabs.

As a result, Wenger has been part of the tour, going around with the trophy to some of the clubs participating.

In this case, he visited PSG in April, posing with PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi with the team’s shirt on display.

It’s a coincidence that, just a few weeks later, Wenger’s former club, Arsenal, will then take on PSG in the Champions League semi-final.

The incentive for the Gunners to win isn’t just about making the Champions League final, though, with plenty more up for grabs as well.

Arsenal will be aiming for Champions League and Club World Cup glory

Arsenal are hopeful of landing Champions League silverware for the first time in the club’s history, having gone close once before.

The upsides are obvious, with a chance to expand the trophy cabinet with another huge honour, along with the Champions League prize money that follows.

There is another impressive incentive, however, in the reformed Club World Cup format brought in by FIFA.

Arsenal would qualify for the 2029 edition of the competition, handed an opportunity to land the title of the best in the world.

On top of that is the huge prize pot on offer, with the 2025 competition holding a prize money of £775million across all the clubs involved.

That, split across the teams, could be a huge boost to the club, something Arsenal could do with to strengthen their squad further.
