William Gallas has suggested that William Saliba is not quite at the level that every Arsenal fan believes he is at right now.
Many Arsenal fans would claim that the French defender is one of the best in his position and would certainly deem him to be world-class.
What’s your message to John Terry after he said William Saliba is not world-class?
Mikel Arteta’s defence has become one of the best in world football, and Saliba has been at the heart of their success over the last three seasons.
But one of the Gunners’ former defenders believes that the 24-year-old still has a long way to go before being considered one of the world’s best.
William Gallas says William Saliba still makes too many mistakes for Arsenal
William Gallas believes that William Saliba is a ‘fantastic’ defender for Arsenal, but he has called for the French star to improve for the national team.
Even for the Gunners, the former Arsenal man claims that he still makes ‘silly mistakes’ and he has room for improvement.
Speaking about the Arsenal star, Gallas told Get French Football News: “William Saliba is fantastic for Arsenal; he’s had a great season.
“He still makes some silly mistakes, like against Atletico Madrid, and he can still improve.”

Gallas has also questioned Saliba’s performances for France and is waiting for the 24-year-old to step up to the required level.
The ex-Premier League star reckons that not having players like Gabriel Magalhaes around him for France is a reason for his levels not being the same as they are at Arsenal.
“In France, Saliba doesn’t have the same top performances for the team. It might be because he doesn’t have the same players and system around him, but he needs to step up. I’m waiting for him to step up for France.”
John Terry has also claimed Saliba is not world-class, but over the next three months, he has the chance to seriously silence them by winning the Premier League, Champions League and World Cup.
