Viktor Gyokeres might not have hit the heights many expected in an Arsenal shirt so far but if there’s one man who knows him well, it’s William Saliba.
Saliba faces off with Gyokeres on a daily basis and is getting a first-hand look at just what the Swedish striker can bring.
Gyokeres netted in midweek to help see off Chelsea in the League Cup and it’s now a question of whether he can go on a run or not and keep scoring.

For Saliba, of course, he needs to see Gyokeres scoring as both he and Gabriel continued to dominate in defence.
And according to the Frenchman, things will be just fine with the big striker.

Asked what he sees in training that perhaps the average fan or pundit isn’t seeing, Saliba explained just why he has so much confidence on Gyokeres.
Speaking after the game with Chelsea in midweek, Saliba revealed how impressive the striker is.
“He’s strong, he’s fast, he scores when he has a opportunity to score and obviously I know his quality because I play against him last season and it was so tough to play against him,” Saliba commented.
“So I’m sure that he will keep going.
“It’s just like sometimes when you are number nine you have some period that you are not scoring but I’m not worried about about him and I think he will score.”

With Arsenal still going on all four fronts this season, now is the time that we’ll see if Viktor Gyokeres was worth the big cash splash.
At the moment, his time with the Gunners has been below average but all it takes is a run of a few weeks and some big goals and suddenly everything will be forgotten.
