Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.
The Gunners have the strongest defence in the Premier League when everyone is fit, but injuries have hurt them this season.
William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Jurrien Timber, Riccardo Calafiori, Ben White, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie have all spent time on the sidelines.
That is why Arsenal want to sign Guehi, but the Gunners shouldn’t even consider a move in the January transfer window.
Be honest. Do Arsenal really need another defender?
Crystal Palace have set their asking price for Arsenal target Marc Guehi
Marc Guehi is expected to leave Crystal Palace in 2026.
The England international has entered the final six months of his contract, and the expectation was that he would leave the club on a free transfer in the summer.
However, there is a small chance that Guehi could be on the move before the winter window shuts.
That’s because Manchester City are in desperate need of a new central defender after injuries to their key players at the back.

Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has confirmed City’s interest as well as that of Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
If any of the above teams want to sign Guehi this month, they will have to meet Palace’s demands, which is said to be between £35 million and £40 million.
Plettenberg tweeted: “We’ve been told in the event of a winter move for Marc Guehi, Crystal Palace are said to be asking for a fee of around £35–40 million. Manchester City are considering whether to submit an offer.
“As things stand, Guehi is favouring a free transfer in the summer. Interested for the summer: Bayern, Liverpool and Arsenal.”
What is the maximum fee you would pay for Marc Guehi in January considering Arsenal can sign him for free in the summer?
Should Arsenal splash the cash for Marc Guehi in January?
Guehi is a phenomenal central defender; there is no debate on that front.
The Palace star is good enough to play for most top clubs in the world, and he completely deserves a move to a bigger side.
Arsenal should definitely consider a move to sign Guehi for free in the summer, but paying £35 million or more in this window would be a silly decision.
Manchester City may well splash the cash to land the defender, which would boost their title hopes, but Arsenal are not that desperate right now.
The ideal move for Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta would be to convince Guehi to stay at Palace and then join Arsenal in the summer.
However, if he decides that he wants to move in this window, the Gunners should wish him well and move on.
