William Saliba reveals which trophy he’d rather win for Arsenal out of Premier League and Champions League

Arsenal are aiming to win both the Premier League and the Champions League titles this season.

The Gunners finished second in the English top-flight last term and made it all the way into the semi-finals of Europe’s most prestigious club competition.

Mikel Arteta would love to go all the way in those two competitions this season, but the priority for many is the Premier League.

However, William Saliba is slightly different.

William Saliba says he would rather win the Champions League than the Premier League for Arsenal

Arsenal have been challenging for the Premier League title every season since Saliba made his senior debut for the club.

The Gunners have come second in all of those campaigns, but Opta have claimed that Mikel Arteta’s side are the favourites to win the title this term.

What’s even more exciting is that Opta’s supercomputer has ranked Arsenal as the favourites to win the Champions League as well.

It would be great if the North Londoners could win both competitions, but if they could only win one, which would you pick?

Saliba was asked that question on CBS Sports after Arsenal’s win over Crystal Palace, and the Frenchman’s preference is very clear.

He said: “We always have this talk with my teammates, but I think, even if I love the Premier League, the Champions League is my favourite.

“Because Arsenal have never won the Champions League before, and it is my favourite. But if we can take both, we won’t say no.”

If Arsenal could only win one trophy out of the Premier League and the Champions League this season, which one would you pick and why?

Arsenal could win both the Premier League and Champions League if they avoid one thing

Arsenal couldn’t have asked for a better position to be in.

The Gunners are on top of both the Premier League and Champions League tables, and they have also made it into the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Arteta’s men have done this while having multiple injuries, which is truly incredible, but this is not sustainable if the players keep getting hurt.

Opta are right to brand Arsenal as the favourites to win the Premier League and Champions League titles, but we think they will only be able to do so if they avoid injuries.

If they don’t, the Gunners could go trophyless for another season.
