Arsenal have had their fair share of iconic celebrations over the years.
Thierry Henry’s knee slide inspired a statue outside of the Emirates, Mesut Ozil’s ‘M’ celebration is iconic in its own way, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette’s handshake celebration highlighted their partnership.
Meanwhile, Viktor Gyokeres’ celebration is already becoming popular.
Speaking on Arsenal’s TikTok page, William Saliba has been asked to name his favourite celebration in football, and, interestingly, he picked out another former Arsenal player for his theatrics.
Indeed, Saliba says he used to absolutely love Nicolas Pepe’s celebration at Arsenal.

William Saliba loved Nicolas Pepe’s celebration
Saliba spoke about his favourite celebration in football.
The Frenchman admitted that his own celebration isn’t up to scratch before noting how much he used to love seeing Nicolas Pepe celebrate for Arsenal.
“GOATed celebration?” Saliba was asked.
“Yeah I go crazy. I do everything. I have to find one. Nicolas Pepe, my friend, he was playing for Arsenal and I loved when he celebrated when he scored,” Saliba said.
Nicolas Pepe’s stats for Arsenal
Pepe was something of a flop for Arsenal, it has to be said.
Indeed, as a club-record £72m signing, Pepe was expected to be a star for the Gunners, but it never quite worked out that way.
That said, his numbers for the Gunners weren’t exactly terrible either.
While Pepe didn’t live up to expectations, he wasn’t a bona fide dud, and he scored a few goals for Arsenal in his time.

These days, Pepe is playing for Villarreal, and, interestingly, Pepe scored against Arsenal a few weeks ago in a pre-season friendly.
Saliba is still close friends with Pepe, and while he won’t be too fondly remembered by Arsenal fans for his spell at the Emirates, it sounds as though he does still have a few friends in the Arsenal dressing room.
Look out for William Saliba potentially changing his celebration this year, as he says he needs to find a trademark.
