William Saliba has now outlined Arsenal’s hopes for the rest of the season with one ambitious target having been set.
As things stand, Arsenal are unbeaten at the Emirates Stadium so far this season, across all competitions. However, it has still been an inconsistent start to the campaign.
The Gunners’ Premier League title hopes are already hanging by a thread, as Liverpool hold a six point lead over the North London club at the top of the table and also have a game in hand.
However, Mikel Arteta won’t be ready to give up on the prospect of his side becoming champions this season.
Martin Keown has insisted that Arsenal are still in the title race, and it would appear that centre-back William Saliba is a believer too.

William Saliba shares Arsenal hope
Saliba was once again a solid presence at the back for the Gunners in their 3-0 Champions League win over Monaco on Wednesday evening.
The Frenchman has also been on something of a scoring streak lately, as he has netted in each of the club’s last two Premier League outings, against Fulham and Manchester United.
He has good reason to be full of confidence, and appeared in such a bullish mood as he spoke to TNT Sports after the win over Monaco.
Outlining the task facing Arsenal if they wish to get their hands on some silverware this season, Saliba set the target of not losing another game for the rest of the campaign.
He said: “When we start the season we want to win trophies, and of course we are unbeaten at home this season. We have to keep going like that… I hope we will be unbeaten until the end of the season.”
Arsenal have already been beaten twice in the Premier League this season, and once in the Champions League. All of those defeats came away from home. If the Gunners are to hit Saliba’s target and remain unbeaten for the rest of the season then their form on the road will have to improve dramatically.
What trophies can Arsenal win this season?
Arsenal are still in the Premier League title race, but there is little margin for error left available to them.
Arteta’s side need to now put a run together and begin making up ground on Liverpool.
Meanwhile, they also need to take the cup competitions seriously. They are well placed in the Champions League, and on current form are set to quality for the knockout rounds without having to go through the play-offs.
The Gunners also need to push hard in the EFL Cup, having reached the quarter-finals of the competition. Arsenal will take on Crystal Palace in the next round, and will be heavy favourites in that encounter.
Arsenal are also set to face Manchester United in the FA Cup, and as the most successful club in the competition’s history, they will be desperate to progress.
Arteta has made winning trophies his mission at Arsenal, and now is the time to deliver on that ambition.
