£50m Arsenal player is incredibly underrated, he was superb against Liverpool

It proved to be a seismic night for Arsenal against Liverpool, Mikel Arteta’s entire squad proved their rich worth.

Jorginho’s performance was the story of the night, a player who only seems to be deployed in the biggest of games, and yet never disappoints.

The Italian showed all of his intelligence in midfield, and deservedly won the man of the match award.

However, it was a different experienced Arsenal head who has now been donning the underrated crown.

Whilst no one will debate how well Ben White has played over the last few seasons for Arteta, his importance is perhaps being a little understated these days.

It has often been reported that White has been playing through injury during different parts of this season, which proves his worth in itself.

But perhaps White was only second to Jorginho in the Arsenal squad against Liverpool today, he commanded the whole right side of the pitch.

And yet, his name isn’t often mentioned in the aftermath of such games, and he’s definitely underrated by opposition fans too.

Ben White proved he’s the most underrated player in the Arsenal squad against Liverpool

Perhaps the biggest indication of White’s ability being understated is the lack of talk around his England spot.

Whilst it’s not entirely clear why White isn’t playing for his country, the situation doesn’t get the attention it deserves.

It should be gut-wrenching for England fans to miss out on a talent like White playing at centre-back or on the right, and yet it’s a seldom discussed situation.

Of course, Ben White doesn’t seem like the kind of character who needs that validation, he’s happy making his own progress.

But it really does bode well for Arsenal that they have such a strong and versatile player in the squad, as he proved against Liverpool.

White’s £50m-move raised eyebrows at the time, it was a high price, however, he’s proved to be worth every penny.

And as the dust settles from this incredible night at the Emirates, perhaps a few will reflect on another flawless Ben White display.

That being said, one Arsenal player was criticised for his performance against Liverpool.
