Arsenal have made it a habit of signing players from Chelsea in recent years.
The Gunners are a level above the Blues, and that has been the case for a few seasons now. Yet, Mikel Arteta has seen the urge to bring in players from Stamford Bridge.
It all started with Willian in the summer of 2020, before Kai Havertz and Jorginho were signed from Chelsea in the space of six months.
Then, arguably the worst move of all, Raheem Sterling was brought in on loan on deadline day last summer.
Arsenal fans have been traumatised by the recruitments of Sterling and Willian, but they could finally make a smart signing from the Blues.
Arsenal eyeing move to sign Noni Madueke from Chelsea
Arsenal are on the market for attacking reinforcements this summer.
The absolute priority is a new striker – we definitely don’t want any of Chelsea’s number nines. But, a new winger is a necessity too for Arteta.
Nico Williams is off to Barcelona, while it looks like Jamie Gittens is likely to move to Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks.
That’s perhaps why Arsenal are looking at other options, and the Telegraph claim that the Gunners are monitoring the situation of Noni Madueke at Chelsea.
After what happened with the last two wingers we signed from the Blues – Willian and Sterling – the first thought in Arsenal fans’ minds will be, ‘not again!’
But, Madueke, a left-footed right winger who knows the Premier League well and is still only 23, would be a fine option as a backup to Bukayo Saka.
If Arsenal do get this done for a reasonable fee, we think it would be a very smart signing.

Arsenal signing Noni Madueke would also annoy Tottenham fans
Madueke joining Arsenal wouldn’t just be shrewd business on the Gunners’ part; it would sting Tottenham supporters as well.
That’s because the Chelsea winger spent four years at Spurs after joining the club at the age of 12. He left Tottenham and moved to PSV in the Netherlands on a free transfer.
Since then, Spurs have been linked with re-signing Madueke on plenty of occasions – the report from the Telegraph has mentioned them again as well.
If Arsenal can land the former Tottenham man ahead of them this summer, we’re sure it will annoy some Spurs fans.
