The chaos of the transfer market strikes again as clubs continue to get dragged into last-minute talks, calls and more.

With the early summer transfer deadline creeping up, especially for teams in the Club World Cup, there has been some pressure on potential deals to be pushed through.

For Arsenal, much of this is a case of sitting back and watching it unfold as they pick their moment to strike in the market.

Their rivals don’t quite have that luxury, and as Chelsea have seemingly failed to land one of their transfer targets, Andrea Berta can swoop in and secure a deal for himself.

Arsenal have been linked with a transfer for Jamie Gittens as a potential option in the transfer window to solve their problems out wide.

The 20-year-old has been on the club’s radar for some time, following an impressive campaign in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund.

With the Englishman gaining such attention, it’s not only the Gunners who have been tracking him, but rivals Chelsea too.

In fact, the Blues have become the frontrunners for Jamie Gittens, with the aim of landing him in time for the Club World Cup.

However, after a day of bidding for the winger, it has all come crashing down as Florian Plettenberg claims that talks have “collapsed”.

Chelsea were unable to seal a deal in time, coming as a huge blow to their chances in the Club World Cup.

That’s not to say that talks won’t continue during or after the competition, but there will be less of a rush to complete it so that he can be registered in time.

What that does for Arsenal, however, is open the door to Andrea Berta making a move of his own.

Arsenal can’t fumble new Jamie Gittens transfer chance

With Chelsea seemingly dropping the ball in the race to sign Gittens this summer, Arsenal now have a chance to swoop in.

The Gunners have been linked with the young winger, who fills the exact position that the Gunners need to strengthen.

Gittens fits the squad as a youthful option who is capable of improving the team now and in the future.

Covering both the left flank and the right wing, the Borussia Dortmund star may be a once-in-a-generation opportunity to land, and Arsenal should be front and centre to win the race.
