Tottenham finished 17th last season for the second season in a row. They are about to make their sixth signing of the summer.
And there seems to be no sign of them slowing down.
Five signings are already through the door, including bold big-money moves for Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke, and shrewd free signings Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson.
Now, Sandro Tonali is set to join them.
They have also sold 19-year-old Luka Vuskovic to Brighton for £50million despite him never making a single first-team appearance.
They have spent approximately £250million, and are now reportedly weighing up an approach for £90m-rated Eli Junior Kroupi, a player Arsenal have serious interest in themselves.
👀 PROVE US WRONG: Eli Junior Kroupi immediately improves Arsenal’s attack…
⚽ The 19-year-old has 13 Premier League goals this season!
Tonali and Fernandes were also on Arsenal’s radar at various points this summer. And yet, the Premier League champions, have made no new arrivals.
Piero Hincapie has joined the club permanently after his loan spell last season, but that deal was effectively done before the window even opened.
Where is Andrea Berta?
The transfer window has been open for weeks. Arsenal’s primary target, Morgan Rogers, remains at Aston Villa who have set his price at £130million based on Manchester City’s deal for Elliot Anderson.
It was reported in May that an £80million deal could’ve been enough to tempt Villa to sell Rogers, but by hesitating, Arsenal have missed the boat and may now have to pay a premium.
🤔 PICK ONE: Would you rather Arsenal signed Bradley Barcola or Morgan Rogers this summer?
Arsenal have also reportedly had a £55million bid for Bruno Guimaraes rejected and are expected to go back in.
Apparently, they think £65million will do it. So put the bid in. Do it today! Stop waiting!
Arsenal’s best players need help
Look at Declan Rice at this World Cup. Look at Bukayo Saka. And William Saliba. Martin Odegaard. These are Arsenal’s best players, and they are running on fumes.
The Gunners played 63 games last season across four competitions, more than any other big five European side. The evidence of that is written all over them in North America.

When your best players look physically spent at a World Cup, the priority should be getting the new players in early. Get them into pre-season. Get them learning the system so that the likes of Rice, Saka and Saliba can be eased back in gently when they return.
Every week of inactivity in the transfer market is a week of pre-season preparation lost.
It’s not even so much about the specific players Tottenham are buying (paying £100million for Tonali is barbaric). It’s about the intent, the motion, the urgency.
Arsenal have an opportunity to build something historic
There’s so much instability surrounding the other top clubs at the moment. Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea all have new managers this summer.
There is a window of opportunity for Arsenal to pull away from the pack, go back-to-back, and potentially build a dynasty. That starts with getting this summer right.

Julian Alvarez. Bruno Guimaraes. Morgan Rogers. Bradley Barcola. Get one done as soon as possible, before it’s too late.
Oh, the Jeremy Monga deal might be close to completion? Wonderful. Arsenal need senior players too. We’re getting Illan Meslier? Brilliant.
The Premier League champions should not be watching a club that just avoided relegation set the pace in the transfer market.
Mikel Arteta knows what he wants. Newcastle know what they want for Guimaraes. Arsenal think £65million is enough. Now it’s down to Berta to go and do it.
