Arsenal have been told that £65 million could be enough to get the deal done to sign Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United this summer.
Arsenal have already had a £45 million bid rejected for Guimaraes, and could return with another offer in the coming weeks.
💰 Bruno Guimaraes is turning 29 in November and has TWO years left on his contract… How much should Arsenal pay to sign him?
Mikel Arteta is keen to improve his midfield options, and the Brazilian is a player that the Gunners have been targeting for several years.
Now, this summer, the North London club could finally land one of their top targets, and they now know exactly what it would take to get him.
£65m could be enough for Arsenal to sign Bruno Guimaraes
Newcastle journalist Lee Ryder has revealed that £65 million could be enough for Arsenal to sign Bruno Guimaraes this summer.
Arsenal think Bruno would be the perfect partner for Declan Rice and will now make another push to sign the 28-year-old.
There is a possibility that the midfielder has a verbal agreement for around £65 million and a bid from the Gunners could set things in motion.
Speaking to Seeing Red, Ryder said: “I think there’s always been interest from Arsenal. I think Newcastle actually snuck in there and got them.
When Arsenal were probably thinking about getting them that summer, we got them in January, and then the rest is history, kind of thing.
“But I don’t think that Arsenal’s interest has ever gone away. Yes, I’m also hearing that there was a sort of verbal proposal of £45 million. That was dismissed, you know, via third parties.
👀 How much is Leandro Trossard worth to Arsenal? Should the Gunners be selling him at all?!
“Now it’s about whether they can come back with more. We’re told £65 million could be the tipping point. Could be some kind of verbal agreement between Bruno and his people.
“If Arsenal do, you know, turn that into an official bid, then the wheels might start moving on it.”
Guimaraes is one of the best midfielders in Europe and would represent Arsenal’s best signing since Rice in 2023.
