Gabriel Magalhaes has had a tough summer to say the least.

Earlier this year, Gabriel was touted by some as a potential Ballon d’Or winner, but the past few months have been a bit of a disaster for the defender.

Gabriel was bullied by Erling Haaland over the weekend as Norway knocked Brazil out of the World Cup.

Of course, only a few weeks prior to Brazil’s shock World Cup exit, Gabriel missed the key penalty that cost Arsenal the Champions League.

As you can imagine, Gabriel has suffered some serious mental torment after that penalty miss, but now, Arsenal could make a signing that will help on that front.

Bruno Guimaraes could help Gabriel Magalhaes after penalty nightmare

Arsenal are interested in signing Bruno Guimaraes.

There are a number of reasons to be excited about that deal, but one important aspect is how Guimaraes could help Gabriel Magalhaes through his potential struggles this summer.

Guimaraes and Gabriel are known to be good friends, and, sadly, they do share their penalty heartbreak in common.

Much like Gabriel against PSG, Guimaraes also missed a key penalty against Norway last weekend, and, you’d imagine, that will also be cutting him up.

However, the pain will be eased by the fact these two can work together to get through this.

Guimaraes and Gabriel are two close friends in the same situation – stewing over painful penalty misses, and while it will be painful for a while, the fact that both men can sympathise with each other and work together to help banish those demons could be massive.

Factor in that Bukayo Saka has also been in the same situation at Euro 2020 and the Arsenal training ground becomes a perfect destination for both Gabriel and Guimaraes to heal the wounds caused by their respective penalty misses in recent weeks.
