Arsenal have become one of the top providers for English talents over the last year, and now another Gunners star could make a late bid for the World Cup squad.

That player is Ben White, who made just his second Premier League appearance of the season in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Brentford on Thursday.

Mikel Arteta’s team restored their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, with goals from Bukayo Saka and Mikel Merino securing the win.

However, it is White’s performance that has fans talking, as the 28-year-old just reminded Arteta and Thomas Tuchel why he should not be discounted.

Thomas Tuchel must consider recalling Ben White for England

Tuchel must consider recalling White for his England squad ahead of next summer’s World Cup in North America.

White hasn’t made an appearance for England since pulling out of the 2022 World Cup squad under Gareth Southgate.

Back in May, the new England boss revealed that he had spoken to White, and it appears that he is now open to being selected for the Three Lions again.

Home to Brentford, White marked his Arsenal return with a superb display, as he was awarded Man of the Match for the Gunners.

Throughout the match, White could be spotted gallivanting up Arsenal’s right side and linking up very nicely with Noni Madueke.

It was just a reminder that, despite Jurrien Timber’s impressive form, White remains a player who could still be very important for Arsenal, as well as for England.

With Saka set to start at right wing for England, it would make sense to pair him with a player with whom he shares a great connection on the pitch.

The Arsenal defender has a long way to go yet, but he now has every chance of being selected if he plays how he did against Brentford.

Ben White might be England’s best right-back option

Over the last ten years or so, the right-back spot for England has been really competitive with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James, Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier.

But this season, Trent has struggled to stay fit, James has become a midfielder, and both Walker and Trippier are no longer performing at the same level.

Therefore, this has opened the door to the likes of White and Tino Livramento, but surely the former should fancy his chances.

The 28-year-old is a real talent, with his latest Premier League display hopefully inspiring him to once again become a key player for club and country.
