Arsenal are in the fortunate position of having a number of excellent academy graduates pushing for the first-team squad.
Max Dowman impressed Arsenal fans once again in his cameo substitute appearance in the 2-0 Carabao Cup win over Port Vale.
The 15-year-old’s successful breakthrough into Mikel Arteta’s squad comes after the huge impact that Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly had last season.
Hale End is certainly flourishing under the guidance of Per Mertesacker and the latest jewel in the crown, Marli Salmon has also just received a boost for his prospects.

William Saliba’s new Arsenal contract can help develop Marli Salmon
Arsenal fans will be rejoicing after journalist David Ornstein revealed that William Saliba is set to sign a new contract at Arsenal.
The French defender’s current deal expires in 2027 and European giants Real Madrid have made their admiration of Saliba well known.
However, he is set to pen a new five-year deal at the Gunners in order to continue to fight to bring the biggest honours to North London.
Salmon looks up to Saliba and the Hale End youngster has been compared to the French international in terms of his physique and composed style on the ball.
Arsenal now have the luxury of allowing Saliba to mentor and help develop his potential successor, a player that is one of their own.
Marli Salmon may have to be more patient than Max Dowman to get Arsenal opportunity
Arsenal rate Salmon highly and are hugely optimistic about the defender’s future in the game after already featuring for the first-team in pre-season.
At just 15 years of age, he already has a maturity about his play and has all the physical and technical aspects to become a top defender.
Salmon would have seen his academy teammate Dowman making his mark in Arteta’s side, however the defender may have to be more patient given Arsenal’s strength in depth in that position.

Saliba himself is now fully fit after an ankle problem and Cristhian Mosquera has impressed since his summer arrival from Valencia.
A cup competition would be Salmon’s most likely route into gaining some minutes but he will also know there is plenty of time for him to develop and represent the Gunners.
