Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool are expected to be the three teams in the race for the Premier League title in 2025/26.
It was Arne Slot’s side who won the title last term, while Pep Guardiola’s men managed to lift the crown in each of the previous two campaigns.
Arsenal, unfortunately, have finished second three seasons in a row, and Gooners are hoping that their luck will change this time around.
On Wednesday, Arsenal’s 2025/26 Premier League fixtures were announced, and we think the North Londoners have an edge over their two title rivals.
Arsenal have a major advantage over Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League title race
Arsenal have a very difficult start to the new season.
The Gunners face Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home in their first six games, while there are home fixtures against Manchester City and Nottingham Forest to deal with too in the same period.
Only three of Manchester City’s first six games are difficult on paper, while Liverpool have it the easiest – they face just two big opponents in their opening six fixtures.
That is not ideal if you’re a Gooner, but Arsenal’s advantage over their two Premier League title rivals comes in the back end of the season.
In the final 10 games of the campaign, Arsenal face just one top-six club – Manchester City.
Guardiola’s side face two big sides in the same period, while Liverpool are scheduled to play three of their top-six rivals in the run-in.
If Arsenal manage to get off to a good start against the big sides early on in the campaign, they will be in a great position to go all the way in the final few months of the season.

Arsenal’s first six games in 2024/25 compared to 2025/26
Getting off to a good start is always important, and Mikel Arteta will want that for Arsenal in the first two months of the 2025/26 season.
The Gunners have a really tough start – it was a lot easier on paper last term.
| Arsenal’s first six EPL games in 2024/25 | Arsenal’s first six EPL games in 2025/26 |
| Arsenal 2-0 Wolves | Manchester United vs Arsenal |
| Aston Villa 0-2 Arsenal | Arsenal vs Leeds United |
| Arsenal 1-1 Brighton | Liverpool vs Arsenal |
| Tottenham 0-1 Arsenal | Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest |
| Manchester City 2-2 Arsenal | Arsenal vs Manchester City |
| Arsenal 4-2 Leicester City | Newcastle United vs Arsenal |
Arsenal’s results in their first six games last season weren’t bad, considering that the two games in which they dropped points were mainly down to terrible refereeing decisions.
The Gunners’ start this time around is a lot more difficult, especially the away games against Liverpool and Newcastle United.
But, if Arsenal can pick up six wins out of their first six fixtures – including maximum points against their two title rivals – Arsenal will become the favourites to win the Premier League.
