Arsenal are in the market for a new midfielder in this summer transfer window.
The Gunners want Bruno Guimaraes, but, after a tough summer of sales, it’s proving difficult to do business with Newcastle United.
Luckily, there are plenty more fish in the sea, and Arsenal have been linked with a few other exciting options.
Frustratingly, this transfer window has been a bit crazy when it comes to midfield prices as the likes of Elliot Anderson, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali have moved for massive money.
However, a window of opportunity may now be opening for Arsenal.

Arsenal could pounce for Manu Kone
Manu Kone has been linked to Arsenal in recent weeks, but a deal has looked unlikely as Manchester United appeared to be the frontrunners here.
However, after spending decent sums on Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, United may struggle to afford Kone.
That’s according to Laurie Whitwell, speaking on Talk of the Devils.
Whitwell says that while Kone is available at a reduced figure, it is still too much for United at this point.
“I even now have a slight feeling from speaking to people that maybe the price point that Roma would want, I know it’s sort of reduced from what it feels like what he would typically be worth, but even that might be too rich for United’s blood. Yeah, I’m kind of hesitating to say anything definitively because clearly plans have changed as the summer window has gone on,” Whitwell said.
The appeal of signing Kone is clear for all to see – he was brilliant at the World Cup, he’s tidy on the ball and he works very hard in the midfield.
If Manchester United are intent on dilly-dallying around with this deal, it may be time for Arsenal to pounce as the noises coming from Newcastle continue to suggest that Bruno Guimaraes isn’t for sale.
Arsenal and Manchester United are perennial rivals on the pitch, and this rivalry may be set to continue in the transfer market too.
