Arsenal star Max Dowman draws fouls in England under-19s clash with Spain

Among the most promising academy options in the current squad is Max Dowman.

The 15-year-old has already impressed Arteta, having featured in training plenty over the past year or so.

Dowman has already made his Arsenal debut, featuring off the bench against Leeds, before making a second appearance in the Premier League defeat to Liverpool.

Many fans have started to see the potential for the youngster, who has shown glimpses of his quality to drive with the ball and create chances.

When it comes to youth football, the Arsenal starlet looks a cut above the rest already, as was seen in his latest outing on the international stage.

Dowman got a call-up to the England under-19s for the first time, having only previously featured at under-17s level.

Featuring against Spain, the youngster was fouled ten times alone in the first half, as the opposition struggled to contain him.

The attacking midfielder landed another penalty after a trip in the box, which was scored, as England went on to draw 3-3.

Dowman’s ability to draw fouls may draw similarities to Jack Grealish, who was a master of it in his time at Aston Villa.

The England international used to win valuable possession for his side by drawing the opposition in, while his ability to keep the ball is a huge positive for the team.

If Dowman can go on to play at a similar level as Grealish, he could be extremely useful for Arsenal in plenty of ways.

Max Dowman could fit perfectly with Arsenal’s set-piece plans

It’s no surprise that Arsenal are good at set-pieces.

Their ability to get plenty of them, mixed with a good taker and tall players, results in plenty of success.

That sheer volume often comes from corners, as teams push Arsenal to attack with width on almost every occasion.

However, if that can be mixed in with a regular winner of free-kicks, then it could only take Arsenal to the next level.

With Dowman, the Gunners have the potential to win plenty more set-pieces and penalties, resulting in more chances to succeed.

It remains to be seen if the youngster is ready to step up on a regular occasion, but there is potential for him to be the next Grealish.
