Arsenal have made signing a midfield partner for Declan Rice a top priority this summer, and the Gunners might have just found the perfect candidate at the Euros.
The England international has been a revelation for the Gunners since his arrival last year, with Arsenal paying a club-record £105m to sign Rice, as the 25-year-old midfielder enjoyed his best year yet as a professional in his first season in north London.
With Mikel Arteta seemingly set to fully transform Rice into that left-sided option in a midfield three, the hunt for a new partner who can sit deep and control the tempo of the game whilst the Arsenal no. 41 can do his thing alongside Martin Odegaard is now on.
And at Euro 2024, Arsenal might have just found the perfect player.

Fabian Ruiz could be Arsenal’s answer to replacing Granit Xhaka
Fabian Ruiz is a name that has exploded into the public lexicon this summer, with the PSG midfielder arguably the best player at this summer’s Euros with Spain, who last night scored and assisted in La Roja’s 4-1 win against Georgia.
With PSG looking to sell Ruiz this summer according to Foot Mercato, the 28-year-old will likely be on the move in the coming weeks, with the Euros the perfect platform for the former Napoli star to showcase his talents.

And as per numbers from FBref, there’s good reason why Arsenal fans are comparing Ruiz to former midfielder Granit Xhaka, another player who has impressed greatly at the Euros this summer, 12 months on from leaving north London.
Indeed, Ruiz has stolen the show this Euros, and with PSG open to moving on the Spanish international, Arsenal have to be the side who pounce for the midfield maestro, who could be perfect alongside Rice and Odegaard.

Arsenal could face a battle to sign Ruiz this summer
As is usually the way after a major footballing tournament, interest in Ruiz will be high this summer, especially with the midfielder potentially up for sale as PSG look to overhaul their squad beyond Kylian Mbappe.
For Arsenal, that could mean competition for Ruiz’s signature, a prospect that could fill the north London side with dream if a top team were to come into the fray for the Spanish international this summer.
At 28, Ruiz is at the peak of his powers, with the midfielder showing off his talents in the best possible way at the Euros, and Arsenal could be in for a battle to land the Spaniard if they do indeed register an interest in the PSG star.
