The latest Thomas Partey news should prompt Arsenal to change their stance on bringing Amadou Onana to the club.
Arsenal have recently been linked with a move for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana.
Whilst many fans feel that the Belgian is not the player that the club need right now, there is a chance that he will be available in a cut-price deal this month due to the financial struggles that the Merseyside outfit are currently having.
What’s more, Onana is a real talent. The £33 million former Lille man has established himself as one of the most promising midfield prospects in the Premier League in his time at Goodison Park. If he were to come to the Emirates Stadium, he could prove an inspired purchase in the long run.
Mikel Arteta will be well aware that his midfield contingent is due an overhaul. Thomas Partey, Jorginho, and Mohamed Elneny are all in the twilight years of their careers.
That being said, with Arsenal currently in greater need of reinforcements in other areas of the pitch, this winter may not be the ideal time to invest in Onana. The latest injury update concerning Partey ought to confirm this position.

Thomas Partey injury boost should impact Arsenal transfer plans
According to The Mirror, Partey is making excellent progress with his recovery from his latest injury. The Ghanaian star could well be cleared to return to action before the end of this month. That would be a huge boost for Arteta, and the north London club in general.
At his best, the 30-year-old is an elite-level operator in the middle of the park. He has an incredibly useful ability to receive the ball in congested areas in the middle of the park, find space, and progress his side up the pitch with penetrative passes. His return would also ease the burden on Declan Rice.
Whilst the player’s awful injury record means that Arteta should not be making the assumption that Partey will return to action and stay fit for the rest of the season, if he can remain available then he will almost certainly play a huge role for the club in the second half of the campaign.
Partey does not represent the long-term future of the club. His inconsistent availability is a problem too big to ignore heading into next season. His return this month, though, should convince Arteta that he doesn’t need to sign Onana at this time and he can instead focus on strengthening other areas of his squad.
