Arsenal and Chelsea have been involved in quite a few deals over the years despite their rivalry.
From Olivier Giroud heading to Stamford Bridge to the likes of Willian, Kai Havertz and Jorginho moving to North London, there have been transfers between the two clubs.
Now, Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to join Arsenal from Chelsea, and that may not be all in this summer’s transfer window.
Arsenal are interested in another Chelsea player.
What Chelsea have told Arsenal about Noni Madueke
Arsenal are eyeing a move for Noni Madueke of Chelsea.
The Gunners are in need of reinforcements out wide. The priority is a new left winger — someone like Rodrygo Goes would be fantastic for Arsenal.
But, Mikel Arteta could do with a like-for-like backup for Bukayo Saka on the opposite side as well. The last thing Arsenal need is another injury to their star man because of a lack of rest.
Madueke is not a superstar by any means, but as a backup to Saka, he would be a fine option at a reasonable price.
However, the Independent have revealed that after Arsenal and Chelsea held talks about a deal for Madueke, the Blues demanded a fee of £50 million for the former Tottenham winger.
Unsurprisingly, Arsenal are not prepared to pay that amount right now, but the report claims that they could revisit this deal later in the window.
That, in our opinion, should not happen.
Arsenal should walk away from Noni Madueke deal
Signing Madueke for £50 million would be a terrible move.
Yes, Arsenal need a new winger, and yes, a backup for Saka is really important, but spending so much money on the Chelsea man who has mostly been average would be a ludicrous decision.
For perhaps a little over half that price, Madueke would be a decent option as a backup to Saka, but spending a fortune on him should not be something Arsenal should entertain.
We think the Gunners should turn around and walk away from this deal after hearing that Chelsea want £50 million for Madueke.
