It is April 8, and Leandro Trossard is yet to score a goal for Arsenal in 2026, following yet another lacklustre showing versus Sporting CP.

Arsenal had to wait until the 91st minute to break the deadlock against Sporting as Gabriel Martinelli picked out Kai Havertz, who coolly netted the winner.

But it was not a great performance from Mikel Arteta’s team, and Trossard was one of the worst players on the pitch at the José Alvalade Stadium.

The Belgian winger once again failed to have an impact on the game in Lisbon, and now it is time for the Gunners to think about offloading him in the summer.

Leandro Trossard’s poor goal-scoring form for Arsenal

Leandro Trossard has been in really poor form in front of goal for Arsenal after going 19 matches without finding the back of the net.

The 32-year-old started the season in excellent form, with seven goals and nine assists in total, but since the turn of the year, his form has seriously dropped off.

Arsenal fans were fuming when Trossard’s contract was renewed in the summer, and his early-season form looked like he was ready to prove them wrong.

However, those shouts are now very much justified, and it is clear that the Gunners are still missing a really top left winger.

Andrea Berta is looking to sign another attacker next summer, and bringing in a replacement for Trossard has to be one of the priorities.

Berta has also been tasked with selling players this summer, and Trossard has to be one of the names which the Gunners offload.

Away at Sporting, Trossard failed to register a single shot on target, he completed just one dribble, 17 passes and lost possession nine times.

It wasn’t until Martinelli replaced him and assisted Havertz’s winning goal that the Gunners looked somewhat threatening, highlighting just how poor the winger was against Sporting.

Trossard should now be one of the first names on Berta’s list of players to sell, as 19 games without a goal for a team chasing the Premier League title is just unacceptable.
