Arsenal are still riding the wave of excitement following their stunning victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final.
Mikel Arteta’s side out-classed Carlo Ancelotti’s star-studded Real Madrid team in both legs of the tie and now face PSG in their first Champions League semi-final in 16 years.
Jakub Kiwior was praised by fellow defenders William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes for his performance up against Kylian Mbappe, whilst Mikel Merino was sent congratulatory messages for his display.
Arsenal’s unsung heroes really stepped up to the plate during the tie as a whole and after his arrival at the club, Andrea Berta now has to build upon the momentum caused by the success.

Arsenal Champions League victory should impact Bukayo Saka and William Saliba contracts
Journalists such as Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein have tipped Arsenal to have a ‘busy’ summer in the transfer market and they are prioritising a new striker.
Berta is a huge admirer of Viktor Gyokeres and the Swedish international seems to be the Italian’s number one target to bring to the Emirates Stadium.
However, Berta should focus initially on the stars that he already has at the club and use the current positivity around the club to convince Saliba and Bukayo Saka to extend their contracts.
Real Madrid are interested in Saliba but the Gunners have just proven they are more than a match for the Spanish giants and can compete for major trophies over the coming seasons.
Arsenal are ready to make Saka their top earner but the club can ill-afford to let these two key players slip from their grasp and need to tie them down as soon as possible.
Bukayo Saka wants to win trophies with Arsenal
Saka has made his stance clear amid talk of his Arsenal future as he wants to win trophies with the club he has risen through the ranks at.
Speaking at his pre match press conference ahead of Arsenal’s first leg clash with Real Madrid, Saka stated: “Well for me, I wanna win and I wanna win wearing this badge. It’s pretty clear,
“The fans know how much I love them and you saw on Tuesday that they love me back. It’s a good relationship. I’m happy to be here and I want to win here.”
His goal at the Bernabeu helped the Gunners progress past Real Madrid and Saka could have that shot at a major trophy this season if they can navigate past PSG.
Luis Enrique praised Arsenal following the side’s clash back in October 2024 but PSG have been formidable since then and will give Arteta’s side a real examination over two legs.
