Arsenal fans cannot wait for the season to begin following a flurry of transfer activity this summer.

Mikel Arteta sent a clear message to Andrea Berta at the end of last season over the need for reinforcements this summer, in particular in attacking areas.

Berta has delivered with six signings so far, including Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres to provide that firepower in attack for the Gunners.

The pre-season tour of Asia has also seen the emergence of Hale End star Max Dowman, who has already shown promising signs that he may feature for the first-team at some point this season. His rise to stardom could also be good news for another academy graduate.

Max Dowman’s emergence takes the pressure off Ethan Nwaneri this season

Arteta is under pressure to deliver a trophy this season and will be looking at his entire squad to step up to the plate and contribute to the cause.

One player that has been much discussed this summer is Ethan Nwaneri, firstly with speculation surrounding his future and then over his role in the Arsenal side.

Fans want to see Nwaneri replace Martin Odegaard in the number ten position but that is highly unlikely given the Gunners captain’s strong influence on the team.

One Arsenal fan described Nwaneri as ‘cold’ for his ability to glide past players and make things happen and the emergence of Dowman may make things easier for the 18-year-old this campaign.

The pressure and spotlight will come off Nwaneri a little, he will no longer be the new young superstar on the block and it could enable him to really develop his game this season.

Nwaneri may not be a guaranteed starter this season, but he can certainly make an impact when needed off the bench or when rotated into the side.

He proved last season that he had an eye for goal and his ability to contribute ten goals to the cause will prove important for Arteta once again.

Could Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman be included in the same Arsenal team together next season?

Dowman is now eligible to be picked in a Premier League matchday squad and could in theory line up alongside Nwaneri next season.

There would have to be significant absentees for it to happen in a league match, however, there stands a good chance of seeing both players together in a Carabao Cup tie.

Arteta could make history by being the first manager to give two Premier League debuts to two different 15-year-olds should he select Dowman before December 31st.

Arsenal fans are being spoiled with the young talent coming through the academy and whether they see the likes of Nwaneri and Dowman together this season or not doesn’t really matter.

Supporters know that the future of their club is in good hands with the duo and they will have plenty of time to make their mark on the game.
