Eberechi Eze should be banging on Mikel Arteta’s door at the Arsenal training ground, demanding to start the Carabao Cup final at Wembley next month.
The 27-year-old is no stranger to playing at Wembley Stadium, and in fact, his brilliant record in north-west London should make him a nailed-on starter.
👀 MARTIN ODEGAARD or EBERECHI EZE, which Arsenal midfielder should Mikel Arteta start in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley?
Eze did disappoint against Chelsea, and his recent form has not been great; however, the winger has often shown up on the big stage at Wembley.
Now, ahead of next month’s Carabao Cup final against either Manchester City or Newcastle United, Eze could be Arsenal’s trump card.
Eberechi Eze can be Arsenal’s Wembley hero
Eberechi Eze could be the man to help fire Arsenal to Carabao Cup glory, having done the same at Wembley Stadium for Crystal Palace last season.
It’s so clear that the 27-year-old relishes the chance to play at the Home of Football, and Arteta should strongly consider starting him.
Last season, Eze scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final against City, having also scored in a 3-0 win over Aston Villa in the semis.
Meanwhile, at the start of the 2025/26 campaign, Eze’s final appearance for the Eagles was in their Community Shield triumph over Liverpool.
Eze also scored for England against Serbia during World Cup qualifying as the winger impressed at left wing under Thomas Tuchel.
Fill in the blank: Mikel Arteta should tell Eberechi Eze he must “_______________” to start for Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final…
The Spanish coach has several tough selection dilemmas, but who starts in the number ten role will be an especially tricky decision.
It also remains unclear as to why Arteta is not using Eze on the left, especially with Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli struggling for consistency.
Eberechi Eze is buzzing for a Wembley final with Arsenal
Eze has revealed that he is buzzing to play in a final at Wembley for Arsenal, and he is ready to stake his claim in the team.
After beating Chelsea, Eze told Arsenal.com: “Special, special, special. It’s a game that you want to play in. It’s the games that you want to put these types of performances in, and yeah, it’s special to be there for sure.”
Eze has almost a month and a half to prove himself to Arteta, and he still has plenty of work to do to start in the Wembley final.
