Mikel Arteta needs to refresh his Arsenal midfield for Wednesday’s trip to Brighton, and two of those changes should see Bukayo Saka and Christian Norgaard come in.

Arsenal enjoyed great success with the midfield trio against Wigan in the FA Cup, showing Arteta how well duel number tens can work.

The Gunners may have been playing weaker opposition; however, they ripped through the League One side, who were unable to deal with Eze and Saka.

Meanwhile, Norgaard also proved to the manager why he deserves more minutes, especially given how tired Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice look.

Mikel Arteta must strongly consider a midfield trio of Eberechi Eze, Bukayo Saka and Christian Norgaard away at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Gunners look almost impossible to stop during their FA Cup fourth round win over Wigan, with Eze and Saka causing chaos.

Eze managed 79 touches, two assists, 46 passes completed and six shots at goal in one of his performances for Arsenal so far.

Meanwhile, Saka had 37 touches in just 45 minutes, also completing two dribbles and making one key pass during the match.

At the base of the midfield, Norgaard was excellent against Wigan, with many fans praising the Dane’s display at the Emirates Stadium.

The 31-year-old was named Man of the Match and showed Arteta that he deserves the chance to replace Zubimendi in the team.

Zubimendi was well off the pace against Chelsea and almost gifted the visitors a goal after struggling to cope under pressure.

The Spaniard needs a rest, and Arteta needs to be very wary of running the 26-year-old into the ground ahead of the final few months of the season.

Rice is also a doubt to face Brighton after suffering a minor issue during the win in Sunday’s London derby.

Arteta claims Rice will be assessed on Wednesday ahead of the game, but he really should not be taking any risks with his best midfielder.

Arteta has built a brilliant squad in North London, and now he desperately needs to trust his options by fielding Eze, Saka and Norgaard in the midfield.
