Forget Man City clash, these are the three games that will define Arsenal title hopes

Looking beyond their clash with Manchester City on Sunday, here are three Premier League fixtures that will define the title race for Arsenal.

The Premier League title will not be won or lost when Arsenal take on Manchester City on Sunday.

Of course, the face-off between Mikel Arteta’s men and the reigning champions at the Etihad Stadium is important. If the Gunners can claim all three points it will send out a huge statement of intent, and will put the north London outfit in the driving seat as far as the title race is concerned. However, Arsenal may be without Gabriel Martinelli for this match.

No matter the result in the north west this weekend, there will still be nine Premier League games left and everything to play for for Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool.

Arsenal are very much in this title race, but they have a number of hugely important fixtures coming up.

Three matches that will shape the Premier League title race

Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal – April 28th

The north London derby is always a fiercely contested fixture, but the context of the game this season will give it extra importance. Spurs will be desperate to halt the Gunners’ title charge. Equally, Arsenal fans would love to take one step closer towards the title whilst getting one over on their bitter rivals at the same time.

Spurs are set to have a big say in the title race in general this season, as they are also still yet to face both Manchester City and Liverpool.

Manchester United v Arsenal – May 11th

Declan Rice provided one of his characteristic hero moments with a late winner against the Red Devils at the Emirates Stadium earlier this season. Arsenal must now do the league double over Manchester United for the first time since the 2006/07 campaign.

Erik Ten Hag’s side have been inconsistent this season, but are still capable of turning up in big matches and causing problems for the Gunners at Old Trafford.

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City – TBC

Arteta and his Arsenal squad will only be able to watch on in hope that Spurs can do them a favour in this match, which is yet to be scheduled due to Manchester City’s involvement in the FA Cup, as confirmed by Tottenham’s official website

Manchester City have a poor record on the road against Spurs, having failed to win in any of their last four Premier League visits to the Tottenham corner of north London. Arsenal need this barren streak to continue.
