Forget the result, Arsenal fans did something embarrassing against Manchester United

Football would be nothing without the fans but every so often, the mind boggles when it comes to how some supporters act and Arsenal are no different.

The Gunners are one of the biggest clubs in the world and when it comes to fans around the globe and making themselves known, we have some of the biggest social media stars around.

A quick or over the top reaction is often a way to boost their own viewership and in the main, it’s been accepted that this is now part and parcel of football.

Do Arsenal lack mental strength and if so, how does Mikel Arteta fix it?

However, the match-going fan has always been a touch different. They see things up close and personal and get an overall feel for what it’s like inside the stadium and subsequently, how that impacts players.

Now, after seeing Arsenal lose against Man United, we simply have to call out some of the Arsenal boo boys and girls.

Arsenal fans booing against Manchester United need a reality check

I’ll just get this in before anyone suggests otherwise. But there is a chance that a small portion of supporters were directing their anger at the officials again.

A couple of big calls didn’t go Arsenal’s way and as we’ve seen in the past, Gunners fans can be quick to voice their displeasure.

However, this felt different yesterday and the boos from the home supporters looked more like they were aimed directly at Mikel Arteta and his players.

You could hear them from all corners of the ground and noticeably as well, you could see that a few players like Declan Rice and William Saliba really appeared to take note of the noise.

Quite whether it was a note of wanting to do better or simply being flabbergasted at being booed when sitting four points clear is another argument.

Fill in the blank: Right now, I see __________ as the strongest leader in this Arsenal squad…

But one thing is for certain, and that’s that Arsenal – as a club – cannot afford to lose the collective spirit.

Mikel Arteta has done wonders in recent years and he and his team are still in a great position to bring that Premier League trophy back to The Emirates.

For now, the best thing Arsenal fans can do is get behind their team, encourage them, and show support when things are not quite going as smoothly as before.

If they can do that and the team responds, then come the end of May, we’ll be seeing quite the party in North London.
