Arsenal’s 18-game unbeaten run is now over after their defeat against Aston Villa, but that’s not the only streak that came to an end.
The Gunners were far from their best at Villa Park on Saturday and deservedly lost the game. Leandro Trossard’s second-half goal was not enough as Emiliano Buendia scored the winner in the last minute of the match.
That was very disappointing for Arsenal fans, but Trossard must be more frustrated than everyone else because one of his streaks came to an end with that defeat.
Is Leandro Trossard the best super sub Arsenal have ever had? If not, who is?

Gabriel Martinelli’s Arsenal record is safe after Leandro Trossard’s streak ends
Trossard has been an incredible player for Arsenal since he joined the club in January 2023.
The Belgium international has produced a number of brilliant performances, and he has scored several crucial goals too.
Trossard’s equaliser against Aston Villa on Saturday was his 34th goal for Arsenal in all competitions so far. Those strikes have come in 33 different games.
In the previous 32 fixtures in which the former Brighton man had scored, the Gunners were unbeaten, winning 25 and drawing seven.

That streak came to an end at Villa Park on Saturday, which could mean that Gabriel Martinelli’s record may never be beaten.
The Brazilian has scored in 50 games in his Gunners career so far, and they have not lost any of those fixtures. Nobody in Arsenal’s history can get close to Martinelli’s record.
The next best after Trossard’s streak ended is Kai Havertz, who remains unbeaten in the 28 games in which he has scored.
It will be very difficult for the German or anyone else to go on a run to beat Martinelli’s record, so we think the former Ituano man’s streak at the Emirates may remain unbeaten forever.
Can anyone break this incredible Gabriel Martinelli record at Arsenal? If yes, who?
Arsenal have never lost any of the 50 games in which Gabriel Martinelli has scored. This is the longest streak in the club's history!
Martinelli will have his eyes on Gabriel Jesus’ Premier League record
Martinelli is miles ahead of every current and former Arsenal player in the above statistic, but he still has a long way to go before he can be the Premier League leader.
For those wondering who is on top, it’s Gabriel Jesus.
The Brazilian has scored in 62 different games in the English top flight for Manchester City and Arsenal, and he hasn’t lost any of them.
That is an outrageous record, the best in the history of the Premier League.
We’re sure Martinelli will be eyeing that record. However, he will have to score and remain unbeaten in 24 league games to just match his compatriot’s incredible tally.
That may not happen anytime soon.
