Gary Neville has warned Martin Odegaard that he actually prefers Eberechi Eze playing in the number ten role for Arsenal to the Norwegian captain.
Eze produced a stunning hat-trick in the North London derby as he became the first player to do so in Premier League history.
How pundits reacted to Eberechi Eze’s hat-trick vs Tottenham
The Gunners have moved six points clear at the top of the Premier League with a 4-1 win over Spurs on what was a special night at the Emirates Stadium.
Now, Neville’s latest comments on Odegaard should be a real worry for the 26-year-old as he closes in on his return from injury.

Gary Neville prefers Eberechi Eze to Martin Odegaard at Arsenal
Gary Neville has admitted that he prefers Eberechi Eze playing in the number ten role to Martin Odegaard.
Odegaard is slowly coming back from injury, but he now faces a real battle to earn his place back in the team following the 27-year-old’s three goals.
Both players can, of course, start in the same team, with Eze moving to left wing, although Leandro Trossard is on fire right now.
Neville told Sky Sports: “I think he’s better in the 10. I love him in the 10. I love him in the 10 because I love Odegaard in the 10. So it’s two great options to have.
Who starts in the number 10 role for Arsenal when both fit?
“But why do I like him in the 10? I think he’s got the ability to beat a man with the ball at his feet. I think he’s got the ability to sort of go and do something that’s more unpredictable, maybe than Odegaard.
“Odegaard’s a beautiful player to watch. I think the rhythm in his game and the way in which he plays is fantastic. But I really like Eze in there because I think this Arsenal team just need to be a little bit more unpredictable in the final third.”
Arsenal’s squad depth is now so impressive, as previously the Gunners may well have struggled, having lost Odegaard to injury.
Eberechi Eze could actually be Arsenal’s first-choice number ten
Eze’s performance against Tottenham will be a big concern for Odegaard, and when both players are fully fit, he is now behind him in the pecking order.
Following a slow start to life at Arsenal, Eze has just shown exactly why the North London club were so keen to bring him to N5.
Ultimately, it’s tricky to see Odegaard producing such a performance, where he takes the game by the scruff of the neck and nets a hat-trick.
Fortunately, for the Arsenal captain, Mikel Arteta’s team need all their options available, but when everyone is fully fit, he’s now behind Eze.
